Today after breakfast you are met by your guide to start the tour of the Hermitage. One of the largest museums in the world, the State Hermitage, occupies six buildings situated along the embankment of the Neva River. The main building is the so-called Winter Palace which used to be the official residence of the Russian Tsars. To see all the exhibits treasured in the Hermitage is just impossible – it has been calculated that, if you spend a minute at one item and spend 8 hours in the Hermitage daily, it will take you almost 15 years to view all the museum’s exhibits! To visit all 350 exhibition rooms would entail walking distance of about 10 km (over 6 miles). Our guide will take you to the main masterpieces of the Hermitage. The tour would take about 4 hours.
After the tour you are taken back to your hotel to have the rest of your day at leisure.
P.S. you can stay at the Hermitage to continue exploration on your own. All our hotels are located within the walking distance from the Hermitage so you will be able to walk back without taking a taxi or public transport
